I remember posting somewhere once in a thread about why girls aren’t exploited in animation anymore where some guy said, “all the disney girls are drawn to be generally attractive, but I don’t think there are any eye-candy men… or are there? Are there any Disney men that lots of girls like?” and I mentioned Roger. Tons of girls replied agreeing with me and the original guy was like “wait, Roger? from 101 Dalmatians? What’s attractive about him, he’s tall and lanky and has a big nose, he isn’t muscley at all! Wouldn’t you all prefer Gaston or something? Or do you girls think his big nose is indicative of something else?” and I was like “no, you idiot, he’s a silly, goofy guy who likes animals and can play a bunch of instruments, that’s why he’s attractive. What’s the matter with you? Gaston, seriously?”

This is why we need more girls in animation. And more guys like Roger apparently.

Agreed. More REAL characters overall.

DENSELY POPULATED CITY

Living in this densely populated city where everyone aims to have a semblance of the American dream (lawns), means you have to memorize all of your neighbor’s gardener schedules so you can know exactly when you must shut your windows to avoid the entropic forces of dust blowers. Living in this densely populated city also means you are often intrenched in the fascinating world of technology and creativity, combined … where everyone’s like, “The future? That was so last week” or “My untitled project in development IS the next big thing” (and sometimes they are right). Today, while rushing frantically shutting every window in the house, because a gardner decided to come a day early and to blow dirt in them, I imagined a serene world where Tupac’s smooth- bodied, tatted hologram would run to all of my windows for me while motorized cranks would sync to his motions … as he’d shout thug-like obscenities to the gardeners below.

Who better than lawns, this is the American dream; maybe sooner than later.
